A leaking fuel tank with through-wall damage and areas of thin wall deterioration posed an environmental and operational risk for this facility. Replacement was costly and time-consuming, so a fast, durable, and safe in-situ repair was needed.
DBR provided a long-term solution using the Belzona carbon fiber wrap system. After thorough surface preparation, Belzona 1111 was applied to rebuild the damaged area and smooth out the tank’s surface. Once the surface was restored, the carbon fiber wrap was applied to fully encapsulate and reinforce the repair zone.
This method created a strong, pressure-resistant, and corrosion-proof barrier—effectively sealing the leak and reinforcing the structural integrity of the tank.
The repair was completed without removing the tank from service for an extended period, offering a cost-effective, rapid solution with minimal downtime. The result was a permanent, engineered repair that restored both functionality and safety.
