At this paper mill, the exterior of a dryer can suction box was experiencing severe corrosion and wall thinning, threatening the integrity of the equipment and the efficiency of the papermaking process. The harsh operating environment—combined with moisture, heat, and chemical exposure—accelerated deterioration.
DBR stepped in with a proven solution: Belzona 1321, a high-performance epoxy coating designed to provide outstanding protection against corrosion and erosion. After surface preparation, Belzona 1321 was applied to the damaged areas to rebuild and encapsulate the surface, sealing it against future corrosion.
The suction box was quickly returned to service with minimal downtime, and the repair remained in place and effective for over 8 years—up until the mill’s eventual closure. This project is a powerful example of how Belzona solutions can restore and protect critical assets, extend equipment life, and deliver long-term value and reliability in aggressive industrial environments.
